Why Give?

Before her death in 1954, Alys Enders bequeathed her beloved estate to the Society of Saint Edmund, who transferred the stewardship of Enders Island to St Edmund’s Retreat in 2003.

Since being gifted by Dr. Thomas and Alys Enders in 1954, Enders Island has grown to serve as a ministry of hope and healing, providing spiritual retreats, an Institute of Sacred Art, and a ministry to those in recovery.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Enders Island home of St. Edmund's Retreat can continue our ministries of spiritual renewal, recovery, and sacred Arts.
